Fawlty Towers is a British sitcom produced by BBC broadcast on BBC2 was made in 1975 and 1979 twelve episodes. The show is written by John Cleese and his then wife Connie Booth, both of which also appeared in the show. The series takes place in Fawlty Towers, a fictional hotel in the coastal town of Torquay on the “English Riviera”. The plot revolves around the tense, rude and put-upon owner Basil Fawlty, domineering wife Sybil, a relatively normal waitress Polly and hapless Spanish waiter Manuel and their attempts to hotel amid farcical situations and a number of demanding and feet eccentric guests. In a sudden voted by experts from the British Film Institute in 2000, Fawlty Towers voted the best British television series of all time.
