Generation Kill is a British-American television mini-series produced for HBO, based on a book by Evan Wright namesake on his experience as an embedded reporter with the Marine Corps’ 1st Reconnaissance Battalion during the invasion of Iraq in 2003. It was adapted for television by David Simon, Ed Burns and Evan Wright. the series premiered on 13 July 2008. It was produced by Andrea Calderwood. Highly educated young Marines in the first Reconnaissance Battalion struggle with inadequate resources, bureaucratic snafus and poor communication leading to Baghdad station during the first weeks of the war in Iraq, in a seven-part mini-series based on the best-selling non-fiction book with integrated Rolling Stone correspondent Evan Wright.
