The Get Down is an American musical drama TV series set in the South Bronx in the late 1970s, Created by Baz Luhrmann. Netflix new original series The Get Down, documents the rise of hip-hop and fall of disco music in an unconditional, 1970 New York chaotic. The show was created in 2013 director of The Great Gatsby by Baz Luhrmann. The first episode is a pilot 90 minutes it takes a while to get things moving. We are gradually introduced to the characters, setting, and a love letter to the era of 1970. Think West Side Story meets Poetic Justice and the film Hustle & Flow. The pilot can take a while to really get into. However, all these episodes are very good.
The main plants Get Down revolve around fantastic Shaolin, played by Shameik Moore (DOPE), the mysterious graffiti artist turned DJ wannabe who calls the attention of Ezequiel Figueroa, played by Judge Smith (Paper peoples) and their circle of friends youth (including Jaden Smith, who gets his own credit guest star) is a successful rapper .Ezekiel telling his tale Bronx for a stadium full of fans. He is represented by Daveed Diggs here Nas raps with lyrics by iconic rapper, who is one of many producers of this series. The series is set in 1977, Ezekiel, played by Judge Smith is just a good guy who takes poetry/rap lyrics after his parents are killed and he is being raised by his aunt. Above all, he is madly Mylene, played by Herizen Guardiola (Island fugitive), a beautiful young girl with an amazing voice who has dreams of being the next Donna Summers, except that she is stuck singing in the church choir directed for his repressive father, played by Giancarlo Esposito.
