“Ant-Man” seems like one of those love them or hate them type of films with divided audience opinion. And though the first 30 minutes were slow in introduction of a new hero’s backstory story, I ultimately loved it. Paul Rudd plays Scott Lang, a likable ex-con trying to go straight for his daughter. But when he needs to make ends meet, he does one last job with his old heist team to rob the home of retired scientist Hank Pym (Michael Douglas). His only valuable possession is his old superhero costume from his days spent as Ant-Man, the pint-sized but strong superhero who can shrink and expand and communicate with an army of ants. Things don’t go as planned for Scott, but luckily for him, Pym needs him to become the next Ant-Man and help stop his old research assistant from causing a global crisis. The result is a fun Marvel movie with exciting scenes and great special effects.
